Child Safety Standards

Unshade — Last updated: July 1, 2026

Unshade is an adult relationship and communication app intended only for users aged 18 and older. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (“CSAM”), child sexual exploitation or abuse (“CSEA”), grooming, sexualization of minors, requests for sexual contact with minors, or any conduct that exploits or endangers children. This page describes the standards, safeguards, and reporting procedures we maintain against CSAM and CSEA in accordance with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy.

1. Prohibited Content and Conduct

Users may not use Unshade to create, upload, request, store, share, promote, distribute, or facilitate CSAM, CSEA, grooming, sexual or romantic communication with minors, age-evasion, trafficking, coercion, or any content or behavior involving the sexual exploitation or endangerment of children. Apparent violations may result in content removal, account suspension or termination, evidence preservation, and reports to appropriate authorities.

2. Minimum Age Requirement

Unshade is not directed to minors and may not be used by minors. Users must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in their jurisdiction if higher, to create an account or use the App. If we become aware that an account belongs to a minor, we may remove the account, delete or restrict associated content, and preserve records where required for safety, legal, or compliance purposes.

3. Reporting in the App

Unshade provides in-app reporting for users, chats, messages, and Signals. From a conversation or relevant user/content surface, users can choose Report, select a category including Child sexual abuse material, add a written description, and confirm that the report is made in good faith. Users can also block another user, which stops further contact from that account in the App. Child safety concerns may also be reported by emailing hello@palmsandbirds.com.

4. Review, Enforcement, and Cooperation

We may review reported content, profile data, public Signal data, image messages, and related metadata where necessary to detect, prevent, investigate, and respond to child safety concerns. Reports categorized as CSAM or involving the safety of a minor are treated as highest priority and escalated for prompt review. Where a violation is confirmed or reasonably suspected, we may remove the offending content, restrict or ban the responsible account, preserve relevant evidence, report to competent authorities, and cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement or child-protection bodies.

5. Legal Compliance

Unshade complies with applicable child safety laws and policies in the regions where it is distributed. We may report apparent violations to the U.S. National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline, relevant INHOPE hotlines, Turkish law-enforcement and child-protection authorities, EU child-safety bodies where applicable, and other competent authorities as appropriate.

6. Child Safety Contact

The designated contact for Unshade child safety matters is hello@palmsandbirds.com. This contact is monitored for child safety, abuse, and compliance concerns related to Unshade.
